JONMAR VAN VLIJMEN
IDENTITY = COMPLEXITY = WEALTH

Knowing your identity is currently becoming more and more important Identity is being expressed in uniform codes, so it has become effortless creating and expanding your own identity. Identity seems to be an cumulation of applications, that can coexist in several different worlds. Uniqueness is lost and makes place for uniformness.

    ‘I AM WE’

This transformation is my motive for a ‘re-tooling’ of the practice of a visual artist.

KATHARINA D. MARTIN

My life and the Philosophy  are  the  source  of  my inspiration. I feel like Narziß and Goldmund in the Novel from Herman Hesse or like Nietzesche’s Apollonian and Dionysian.

There is the wildness and passion which I feel. There is this need to be risky and the restlessness which drives me repeatedly in new Experiences of pain but also pleasure. After these intense moments which could always become my “Untergang” (“my going down”) I look for possible ways to learn.

These both sides the Logos and the Eros I want to fusion. Sometimes it feels like a battle. This fragile balance of the Dionysian and Apollonian is taking place in my art. I do not separate them and allow them to coexist in my work.
